Focusing her efforts on improving the birthing outcomes of women, especially women of the African diaspora she began a private practice through Supreme Mother Earth. Utilizing ancient healing methods such as vaginal steaming, essential oils, crystal therapy, Reiki, and a plethora of other healing modalities, she empowers women to empower themselves and others.
Akilah believes it is vital to encompass our health holistically, by understanding the importance of birth imprints and how that affects generations to come.
For the past eight years, Akilah has been assisting families navigate through the medical care system and create their own spaces for home births. She continues to be an active voice in the community by providing platforms for youth to speak, write, and empower one another. When women, children, and men are empowered, our families are then able to design the world we deserve.
As a published author, Akilah is grateful to be able to share her story and experiences through motivational speaking and community activism in the following organizations: T.E.A. Academy, Healthy Black Families Inc., N.A.A.C.P, The Black Organizing Project, and Black Men Speak. She is thankful for her diverse work experiences that have led her to her present path.
